Vintage Humans - a new writing festival

Vintage Humans – a new writing festival

Head to ‘Vintage Humans’, a new writing festival with a vintage twist at Southwark Playhouse this May bank holiday.

Why do we value age in objects but not in people? How can we change perceptions about age and ageing across age groups? Let’s celebrate what we gain with age!

At the festival’s heart are three performances of seven new, short plays by writers and theatre makers representing age groups from 20s to 80s all responding to our theme. More than 75% of the acting company are over 50 and the cast is gender balanced. One of the plays has been picked from  responses to an open call for emerging writers over 70.

All this plus a short film premiere, a vintage fair and live music from cult vintage DJ Auntie Maureen (pictured).

Performances:
May 1st at 3pm & 7pm,
May 2nd at 12noon.
Doors open 30 minutes before the performance.
