Valentine’s Late at Churchill War Rooms

Journey under the streets of Whitehall to a bygone era and walk the maze of corridors to discover the stories of those who led the war effort in secret below ground at the Valentine’s Late at Churchill War Rooms.

Perfect your Triple Step, Lindy Hop and Lambeth Walk with the London Swing Dance Society, who will be on hand to show you the Jitterbug and get your heart racing with dance workshops accompanied by music specially selected by DJs from the Vintage Mafia.

Meet Major Wade as he introduces you to Churchill’s underground headquarters, which once buzzed with plotting, planning and secrecy. Visit a special recreation of a Second World War Officers’ Mess and get hints and tips from off duty officers, to write your very own love letter.

Hear stories of wartime romance and be inspired by letters from our own collection and, what’s more, the best letter on the night will win a prize!

To round off your evening, head to the shop which will be open all evening selling vintage gifts and souvenirs to catch your eye. And with the sounds and stories of the Forties in the air, enjoy a drink with your friends – perhaps Churchill’s favourite Champagne! – and a bite to eat at the pop-up bar.
