Tea and tease at Voluptéa

Tea and tease at Voluptéa

Cabaret supperclub Volupté is back with a bang this November with the revival of a quintessentially British tradition – albeit a significantly boozier, burlesque one.

Voluptéa is now being served in the stylish, subterranean space in the City taking place every weekend-  it’s a saucy way indeed to spend a sultry Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

Expect  an afternoon tea set against a backdrop of burlesque beauties such as Ginger Blush, Miss Rose Thorne and the gorgeous Gateaux Vivants – with nothing but wellplaced cakes to cover their modesty. Ooh la la!

The tea service itself is something special to behold: savoury snackers can choose between fine teas and finger sandwiches, while those with a sweet tooth can indulge in buttery scones, fruity jams and rich clotted cream. Sweetening the deal is a range of homemade delights courtesy of the legendary Lorna Green from Buttercup: with off-the-wall ingredients such as space dust and popping candy, the cool confectionary certainly adds an avant-garde angle to proceedings.

Voluptéa offers plenty of burlesque for your buck and is just £42 per person: this includes entry, a table for the afternoon, entertainment and a tea service; the bar opens at 1.30pm, guests are seated from 2.30pm and the show starts at 3pm.
