Fusion shops, a mixture of vintage store and tea room – just think of King’s Cross’ Drink Shop & Do or Hanbury Street’s Blitz Department Store – have been popping up all around London in the last few years. The latest edition, Crimson Heart, has just opened in East London’s Leonard Street, and features a vintage cafe as well as a shop specialising in midcentury home deco.

While there are plenty of good American-style Fifties diners in London, there has been a real lack of a more British take on the decade.
If you fancy escaping the weekend crowds on Columbia Road then there’s no better place than Vintage Heaven. What looks like a fab vintage shop from the outside is actually also a brilliant little cafe serving delicious cakes and hot drinks.
