Swing by the Museum of London for the fabulous Fifties late night
Come and celebrate all things fabulous about the Fifties at a special late event at the Museum of London to mark the 60th anniversary of the Festival of Britain.
Guests are encouraged to dress in their Fifties finery to transport them back to post-war London. Performing live swing and rhythm and blues, Laura B and the Moonlighters will be providing the soundtrack for jive and bop dance lessons. Visitors can complete their Fifties look at hair and make-up stalls that will transform them into pin-ups, and trend-setting London designers Tatty Divine will be running a retro jewellery making workshops.
If that’s not enough, Museum of London curators Beatrice Behlen and Cathy Ross will be giving talks on alternative Fifties clothing and jazz bars in Fifties Soho. There will also be Fifties themed British food and drink to make the evening go down that much easier.
The Fabulous Fifties @ late event is part of the Mayor’s 2011 Story of London Festival.
