Shocking robbery at William Vintage London Store

Shocking robbery at William Vintage London Store

The William Vintage shop on Marylebone Street was ransacked and looted in a terrible robbery which took place last Sunday, 20 May. The shop, which specialises in beautiful designer and couture, lost over £40,000 worth of unique and irreplaceable vintage.  However, owner and stylist William Banks-Blaney, who regularly dresses celebrities such as Gillian Anderson for events like the BAFTAs, is carrying on as normal.

The robbery took place on Sunday night, when three men in balaclavas and gloves, armed with sledgehammers, smashed through the front of the store and in under five minutes removed some of William’s rare finds including haute couture by Dior, Givenchy, Halston, Ossie Clark and Courreges.

However, the shop is far from being closed. William says: “We made the decision on the night of the attack that we would honour every appointment and continue trading throughout the investigation, so we worked a 27 hour day to ensure that the store was ready for our first appointment after the attack, on Monday morning at 9am.

“The store has been and is open for business and we look forward to the red carpet  at the TV BAFTAs this Sunday where three wonderful WilliamVintage pieces will be seen on nominees. We are determined to not lose pace, profits or profile due to this attack.”

We can only imagine the heartache that goes with having your business robbed, not to mention the sentimental loss of a collection which took years to assemble.
