9Hidden on the second floor of Marylebone’s Alfies Antique Market you’ll find Persiflage, undoubtedly one of London’s best vintage shops.
Update May 2013 – sadly the owners have no retired and Persiflage is no more.
Because of its hard to find location, Persiflage is one of those rare gems of a vintage shop – stacked with incredible vintage clothing from the Twenties to the Seventies, shelves full of linen and fabrics, cupboard upon cupboard of buttons, buckles and beads, all at very affordable prices.
So what can you expect? An excellent selection of Sixties and Seventies designer labels – think Biba trousers for £60, Bus Stop tops for £25. Hand-picked dresses from the Twenties to the Seventies – think a Thirties rayon day dress for £45. Rows of beautiful silk throws and kimonos starting at £50. Edwardian night dresses for £30 a pop.
Excellent vintage at non-London prices – go there now!
