Remember the suffragettes – Emily Davison memorial walk

Emily Wilding Davison was a champion for her cause and the only woman to risk and lose everything for women’s suffrage. 2013 marks the centenary of her tragic death on 4th June 1913 at the Epsom Derby.

Broadwalks Women of Westminster walk celebrates the brave women, including Emily Davison, who stood up for what they believed and stood out against the odds to make a difference. Fifteen years after Emily’s death, women won the vote and the long walk to true equality began.

WHEN? Saturday 1st & Tuesday 4th June 2013
WHERE? Opposite Big Ben at Cafe Nero by the exit of Westminster underground station
WHAT TIME? 12 noon.
HOW MUCH? The cost for attending the walk is £5 per person. In honour of Emily Wilding Davison, all proceeds raised by the walk will be donated to women’s charities.
