The go-to vintage shop for stylists: The Merchant Archive Boutique

The go-to vintage shop for stylists: The Merchant Archive Boutique

Housed in an old Lipton general store, The Merchant Archive stocks a wide range of exclusive vintage – from beautiful Dioresque New Look dresses to mint condition Thirties silk gowns – as well as selected contemporary designers.

The shop was set up in 2007, when a chance meeting found owner Sophie Merchant trading dental hygiene for a life long love of design, fashion and in particular vintage.

In the early days Merchant Archive sold solely to designers for inspiration from a small personal collection in a boudoir by private appointment. Today, the shop remains the go-to place for stylists and designers, however if you have a generous budget (prices start at £100 upwards) this could also be one for you.
