Nanna chic in Deptford: Little Nan's Bar

Nanna chic in Deptford: Little Nan’s Bar

Behind an inconspicuous little blue door on run-of-the-mill high street Deptford Broadway, down a run-down corridor is Little Nan’s Bar, a heaven of nanna chic and granny retro.

Miss-matched chairs and tables, frilly cushions and chintzy lamp shades give this little basement cafe bar the feel of a retirement home ca 1990. To add to the retro feel, tea is served in big pots and vintage china cups, often with a royal theme.

The cocktail menu is equally royal inspired – Mojito of Kent anyone? – and also features original recipes by owner Tristan’s nan. A teapot full of your chosen concoction serves four people and only costs £12, making this a bargain boozer.

Little Nan’s also regularly hosts events such as vintage markets and cocktail specials, if only there was a retirement home just as cool.
