Learn to Lindy Hop at Swing Cats Corner

Learn to Lindy Hop at Swing Cats Corner

If you want to learn authentic Forties Lindy Hop – or Jitterbug as the dance is called in America – head to Swing Cats Corner. The dance club takes place every Tuesday and Thursday and boasts plenty of hot Swing, Jumpin’ Jive and Rhythm & Blues music and dancing until late.

Each evening kicks off with a beginner’s class, which is great for absolute beginners, improvers and advanced dancers who want to work on their fundamental steps. There is no need to bring a partner or to book in advance,  just turn up on the night.

On the first Tuesday of themonth the second class of the evening is an “Intro To 8 Count”, which gives improving dancers the chance to get to grips with “The Whip”making it easier for them to jump up to the intermediate class.

On Thursdays the second class is more advanced. Expect demanding routines, flashy moves and footwork and the occasional small aerial thrown in for good measure.

Stay on after the classes to keep on dancing to resident DJ Voodoo and special guest DJs.
