Kinoteka Polish Film Festival: 1950s/60s closing gala
Head to the closing gala of Polish Film Festival Kinoteka and watch classic film Goodbye, See You Tomorrow followed by a swing dance party.
Considered by some as one of the instigating films of the swinging 50/60’s, Goodbye, See You Tomorrow is Janusz Morgenstern’s answer to French New Wave cinema in both its free-flowing narrative and troubled love story. The film focuses on the youthful and attractive Jacek (Cybulski), who belongs to a drama company. By chance he meets Margeurite (Tuszyńska), the beautiful daughter of the French consul. From that moment on, his world is never the same. The film’s excellent score was written by Krzysztof Komeda, one of Poland’s most well known film composers, and this year we celebrate eighty-five years since his birth.
