Holloway newcomer: Rock Candy Vintage & Retro Boutique

Update May 2013 – Rock Candy is no longer on Holloway Road – it has become a pop-up shop with changing locations

So far Upper Holloway has been a sorry vintage desert with not even a charity shop in sight. Thank heavens for the newly opened Rock Candy Vintage & Retro Boutique right by Upper Holloway Overground.

The little shop is tiny with not much more than a couple of rails stocked with vintage mens and womenswear from the Forties to the Eighties, but there are some real gems to be found at prices that are positively non-London. Art deco vanity set for under £15? Hand-printed silk ties for under a tenner? Seventies maxi for £35. Oh yes.

Shop owner Emma is lovely too and clearly adores vintage – no snooty shop assistants here. With its excellent prices, Rock Candy is well worth a visit despite the lack of retail space. A definite contender for vintage newcomer 2011.

This shop is awesome, I have to concur with the review, fantastic place such a little gem of a store. Its new in the area and my partner and I constantly frequent the place. The guys that run it are so helpful, we love it!

    Enjoy Paul & Hannah

There is always something in shop window that manages to catch my attention. It is very reasonably priced and I never seem to leave empty handed considering that it is a small retro boutique. I have lost count on the amount of items I have purchased and been complimented on. Love it, love it, love it!

Thanks Rock Candy vintage & Retro Boutique x
