Heckling Hitler: with Pen, Mouth and Foot
Join the Cartoon Museum for an evening of raucous derision and comical fun in the form of 3D living cartooning, dance, film and World War II-style satire.
Musician Alice Williamson will transport us back to 1940s Britain through the sounds of vintage classics that rang out through the wireless.
Pick up a beer from our volunteer force running our pub ‘The Satirical Tavern’. Watch animated newsreels, animation from ‘The Family’ cartoonist Carl Giles and the brilliant WW2 commentator David Low on Russian cartoons from the war period.
Get your feet in step with dancer and performer Nikki Santilli, who will teach vintage dances, and lead you all on a 3D living cartoon experiment, bringing penned satire to life.
Cartoonist Steve Marchant will lead a cartooning competition with a brilliant prize that will soon be announced. And of course, you will get to see our current exhibition ‘Heckling Hitler: World War II in Cartoon & Comic Art’.
Friday 26 June 2015 18.30 – 21.00
This is a free event, but booking is essential. Please book via the museum’s shop.
