Glamorous 40s - vintage hairstyling and make, do & mend workshop
Are you a fan of the Forties? Would you like to learn to style your hair in different Forties styles? Do you have any clothes you’d like to alter, customise, embellish or restyle? If the answer to these questions is yes, then this all-day workshop is for you.
During this two part all day workshop you will learn how to create different Forties hairstyles with vintage hairstylist Amanda Moorhouse from Lipstick & Curls. You will have a chance to learn and practice different techniques such as how to do pincurls, victory rolls, backcombing and more.
During the second part of the workshop you will have a chance to explore the vast creative possibilities of Make, Do & Mend. You will be able to alter a garment by taking it up, down, in, or out; changing its shape by adding darts, buttons, embellishments, and more – the choice is yours!
You will learn different hand stitching techniques as well as some basic sewing machine skills if your project requires it. All materials are provided, but you are welcome to bring some of your own if there’s anything in particular you’d like to use.
Please bring three garments to work on. Depending on the project you choose, you might only have time to complete work on one.
