Get crafty a la make do an mend at Come Get Felt Up
Remember cutting and sticking, somehow covered head to toe in glitter with your tongue peeping out in concentration? Rewind for some good wholesome fun at Come Get Felt Up, the silliest night in Shoreditch that combines crafty antics with live music, billed as “Blue Peter meets Art Attack while Anne Robinson watches on”.
This night of nostalgia comes to The Book Club on the last Thursday of every month, kicking off on January 27.
Get creative with the scissors when the theme is unveiled at 8pm, grab some materials (shoe boxes, loo rolls and multi-coloured pipe cleaners just some provided) and get stuck in. Top marks are for effort, judged by the band of the month before the “mega” prize-giving.
Resident DJ BBC6 Music’s Tom Whalley plays rockabilly, folk and funk to keep you dancing all night. The event’s co-organiser Alex Lawson said: “The emphasis is on having fun and tripping someone up to get first dibs on the Sellotape in order to land the glorious range of prizes, from naff soundtrack vinyl to oversized novelty hats.”
Show up early or sit on the floor cross-legged, just like you used to.
