Spitalfields Market opened its gates on a Saturday for the first time in 200 years last year, launching a regular monthly vintage fair there.
Travel back in time to the golden year’s of the King’s Road and find out how a tranquil area outside the centre of London, populated by stockbrokers and bankers, writers and poets was completely transformed by London’s youth culture during a crazy quarter of a century starting around 1955.
Anita’s Vintage Fashion, Accessories & Textiles Fai is a perfect opportunity for anyone looking for textiles and vintage fashion from the 1800’s to the Eighties such as Sixties chiffon, Fifties dresses in fabulous prints as well as Victorian white cottons and Thirties lace and beading.
Update: The Shop has now closed down.
Just off Brick Lane is The Shop, a little vintage store you might just pass by if you’re not paying attention. And you most certainly don’t want to miss this one! Inside, the walls are covered with shelves all tightly packed with incredible vintage fabrics and textiles from the Thirties to the Seventies, while dozens of baskets are spilling out vintage scarves, aprons, tables cloths and kitchen towels.
