Get your cake on at Vintage Heaven

If you fancy escaping the weekend crowds on Columbia Road then there’s no better place than Vintage Heaven. What looks like a fab vintage  shop from the outside is actually also a brilliant little cafe serving delicious cakes and hot drinks.

Now don’t get us wrong, Vintage Heaven is absolutely worth going to for its great range of bric-a-brac and vintage treasures alone, no hankering for coffee needed.  The layout is brilliant – uncluttered and beautifully arranged – and the rows of mid-century homeware items and shelves full of fabrics and linens will undoubtedly wow you.  Prices are good too and pretty average for trendy East London.

But if the lure of Forties postcards and Sixties crockery isn’t strong enough, definitely try out the Cakehole Cafe downstairs. The decor is charming and the place has a real tea room feel. Definitely get stuck in, we particularly like the scons and carrot cake served on vintage china. Delicious!
