Excellent

A modern-day speakeasy and music venue with a menu of classic Prohibition-inspired mixtures as well as more contemporary flavours.

Tucked away in the heart of London’s Old Street in a Hoxton basement, The Nightjar unpretentiously mixes the glamour and charm of a Thirties cabaret venue with refined cocktail traditions from the Belle Epoque and the Prohibition era to create a modern-day speakeasy and music venue.

The cocktail menue is excellent with classic Prohibition-inspired mixtures as well as more contemporary flavours. It’s however the live music programme – there’s live jazz or swing on most Thursday and Saturday nights with vintage DJ sets late night Friday and Saturday – that really makes this place quite special.

So grab a Deep Sea (gin, vermouth and orange bitters) and swing on!
